Lazy Lasagna

I got this recipe from Sivan Ayla, one of my favorite Influencers. It’s very similar to a baked ziti but you cook the noodles directly with the meat or veggie sauce. It should be noted that I got that recipe from a story she posted on Instagram, and I didn’t take down the exact measurements she was using, so feel free to figure out how much of each ingredient is right for you.
Ingredients
1 package of ground beef or turkey (to make vegetarian, I just replaced meat with zucchini)
1 whole onion
1 and ½ cups of water (this measurement I did write down though!)
Shredded cheese of choice (I used a cheddar blend)
1 tablespoon Olive Oil
Salt
Pepper
Oregano
Basil
Garlic Powder
1 whole jar of marinara sauce (can be replaced with 1 28 oz can of diced tomatoes)
Box of uncooked pasta (preferably penne)
Instructions

Turn on the broiler and let it heat up
Dice onion and begin to satay in olive oil
Add in ground beef or veggies (whatever protein you’ll be using)
Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, oregano and basil, however much you see fit
When the meat has browned/veggies are halfway cooked, add the whole jar of pasta sauce or canned diced tomatoes.
Pour in the 1 ½ cups of water
Add your box of penne pasta
Let simmer for 15 minutes or until the noodles are all the way cooked
Put everything in a baking pan and layer in as much cheese as you’d like along the way, adding more overtop to create more of the lasagna effect
Place in the broiler and let broil for 3-4 minutes until the cheese is melted and a little crispy
