November Favorites

I feel like the second half of 2020 just flew by and somehow - Christmas is almost here and soon New Years will be upon us, and then it’ll be 2021. Oh my goodness. Well, some quick life updates- I dyed my hair! Very exciting!! I absolutely love it except for at the beginning, I had an allergic reaction to the vegan red hair dye (I'm assuming that's what made me have a reaction), and I couldn't wash my hair without having someone help me and taking a Benadryl beforehand.

The picture on the left was a week after I dyed it, and the picture on the right is what it looks like now (three weeks later).

Other life updates include the fact that I am going to pursue my art passion as a possible career path and see where that takes me. So if you start to see more art on this page, that is why! And that just about wraps up my updates so let’s just jump right into my favorites from October and November, shall we?

I was thoroughly enjoying a cup of tea in the morning for a few weeks in October and this one was my go-to! If you are looking for a tea that is both soothing and has a strong flavor, I would definitely recommend this one! It’s not overpowering but the ginger really gives you a zesty kick.

Wow I can’t say enough good things about this sunscreen! I finished my Glossier sunscreen and was searching for a clean beauty replacement when I stumbled upon Credo Beauty. I asked their sales associate chat for their favorite sunscreen and this is the one they recommended! I was very skeptical at first though because lotions have a tendency to leave my face greasy looking, and I was used to the oil consistency of Glossier’s. I was also nervous because the color looked like a foundation and I was worried it wasn’t going to blend into my skin or make it look like I was wearing a tinted moisturizer. I’m glad I gave it a shot though because I love it! It does not leave my skin greasy at all, it actually gives it a really nice dewy finish which I love.

It rubs perfectly into my skin just like a moisturizer, doesn’t look cakey, or add color. I read in reviews that the vanilla scent is overpowering, which I have not found to be the case at all. My only two minor qualms are that the packaging is not sustainable, and it does sort of smell like zinc sunscreen as it wears on your face throughout the day especially with a lot of mask wearing. I don’t mind the zinc smell, but in full transparency I wanted to report that. Would still highly recommend this sunscreen to anyone!

As I mentioned in my Going More Eco-Friendly post, I have been carrying around a reusable straw with me in my bag everywhere I go now! It has actually been so useful and I feel good about not using plastic ones. These peppermint ones from Grove Co. are so festive for the holidays, they make me smile!

I have been getting very into the holiday seasons this year- or at least more into them than usual (I usually dislike holidays), and this year I watched so many Halloween-esque shows and movies. My favorite creepy show was ‘Unsolved Mysteries’ on Netflix. I love this type of documentary style because of the storytelling aspect, and I love trying to solve mysteries on my own and understand why people do terrible things (i.e, rape, murder, etc.). And since this was a TV show, I could continue watching and enjoying it for a while!! Another creepy movie I LOVED was ‘Silence of the Lambs,’ which I had never seen before. It was so good!! However, to calm down from all that scary stuff, I started watching the Great British Bake Show and also love that.

My favorite Boston yoga and pilates studio which I talk about all the time, Breathe, stopped making Facebook Live yoga videos! So I had to find a new virtual yoga class. One of my old roommates liked doing Yoga With Adrienne videos, so I decided to give her a try. She’s great! Her flows are very do-able for anyone of all yoga experience, and she has flows that are as quick as seven minutes!

So I have been decently obsessed with this drink from Dunkin. It’s a cold brew with whole milk and three pumps of caramel swirl. And it’s delicious! It’s named after the TikToker Charli D’Amelio in case you’re not hip with the kids. It’s been the only coffee drink I want as of late. The only bad thing is, I recently learned about how unhealthy it is for you..so now I think I’ll have to limit my intake of these to like once a month.

That’s all for now! It’s crazy to think my next favorites will be one month into the new year and under a new president! Thanks for staying with me in 2020!
