Chocolate Peppermint Bark

To ring in 2021, my family decided to plan New Year’s Eve around meals. We planned extravagant menus for each meal of the day, but the chocolate peppermint bark I made was a highlight. This recipe only consists of three ingredients and is fairly easy to make, ensuring you a delightful wintery treat.
Ingredients
12 ounces semisweet chocolate chips
16 ounces white chocolate chips
¾ cups crushed candy canes (I used exactly 12 candy canes and it equaled to more like one cup of peppermint)

Instructions
Line a baking sheet with wax paper
In a bowl, microwave the semisweet chocolate chips until completely melted (I recommend doing it in increments of 30 seconds)
Spread an even layer of the melted chocolate onto the wax paper
Chill in the fridge for 15 minutes to harden
Melt white chocolate chips in the microwave until completely melted (again, I recommend doing it in increments of 30 seconds)
Spread melted white chocolate on top of the chilled chocolate layer. Work quickly to avoid the chocolates from mixing
Sprinkle crushed candy canes on top of white chocolate layer
Chill in fridge for 20 minutes
Once hardened, cut bark with a knife into desired shaped pieces
